First of all, crude oil enters the territory of the production base by means of railway (hereinafter railway) tanks. Oil is drained from the railway overpass by means of connection to the devices of the lower drain, which in turn is transported to the hydrocarbon processing plant for the implementation of the main process – the direct processing of crude oil. After the processing process, some of the petroleum products (mostly light) are poured into railway tanks, they are sent to further buyers.
The production process of draining and filling oil and petroleum products may additionally include steaming and washing operations. Thus, if it is necessary to pour light petroleum products into wagons from under dark petroleum products (and vice versa), steaming/washing of railway tanks at specially equipped steaming and washing stations (PPS) available on the territory of the Company’s production base takes part. Together, these processes make up a whole range of measures aimed at high-quality delivery of services and proven logistics of railway transport entering the Company.
Another of the services provided by Mangystau Oil Refining, LLP is the internal and external cleaning of railway tanks. The steaming and washing complex can take 8 wagons per hour to the Company’s railway overpasses for washing in one cycle. The process of draining and filling oil and petroleum products is 20-25 wagons in average per day.
